3/23/2016

Top merchants from Walmart, CVS Health and Family Dollar are among a group of consumer packaged goods leaders gathering in Chicago soon for a first-of-its-kind event focused on one of the industry’s most daunting challenges.

On May 24, Chain Store Age sister publication Drug Store News and Mack Elevation Forum will host The Future Leaders Summit. The one-day event will feature seven high-impact leaders who will share their ideas and philosophies on attracting talent and leading in a hyper-competitive world.

Among the confirmed speakers are Michelle Gloeckler, executive VP consumables and health and wellness at Walmart, George Coleman, VP healthcare, pricing and business planning at CVS Health, Jason Resier, chief merchant at Family Dollar and Chris Dimos, senior VP, corporate strategy and business development at McKesson. Also schedule to present are David Simnick, co-founder and president, SoapBox and Joe Magnacca, CEO of Massage Envy.

Other unique features of The Future Leaders Summit include two roundtable conversations. One will involve VPs of sales from leading companies discussing, “How top leader attract, develop and retain talent.” A second roundtable focuses on the timely issue of, “What are Millenials looking for in a leader?” and will be moderated by Matt Poli, VP of marketing with The Emerson Group.

“We are all in a competitive environment that is unfamiliar and potentially hostile to our business. Our industry must learn how to once again attract, develop and retain the best talent available,” said Drug Store News Group Publisher Wayne Bennett. “We created this event with our partner Mack Elevation Forum so that attendees could hear from some very special brands and leading retailers that are committed to creating winning organizations busting with talent. This will be the perfect event for those looking for new ideas to expand their business.”

According to Dan Mack, managing director of Mack Elevation Forum, participants in the Future Leaders Forum will have an experience that will help take their organizations to the next level.

“Tomorrow’s leaders must think differently and possess a different set of leadership skills. They must be curious, resilient, purposeful, creative and able to build an adaptive trustworthy team,” Mack said. “No company is immune to change, and creating a healthy culture that attracts leaders is vital to growth. Each of our speakers possesses a special balance of strategy and execution skills that set them apart.”
