Merchandising VP Departs Circuit City

Richmond, Va., Circuit City Stores on Tuesday said that David L. Mathews, executive VP, merchandising, services and marketing, has left the chain to become president of Orchard Brands, a holding company owned by private-equity firm Golden Gate Capital.

Circuit City said that for the near term, the merchandising, supply chain, services and marketing teams will report directly to president and CEO Philip Schoonover.
