Washington, D.C. — The National Retail Federation (NRF) presented its annual Ring of Excellence, Law Enforcement Retail Partnership and Retail Case of the Year awards during the NRF Loss Prevention Conference and Expo on Thursday, June 12. The 2014 award recipients include:
Loss Prevention Case of the Year Award: Barry Vaughn, area investigator, Old Navy. This award recognizes investigators whose work has made a significant impact on their companies, communities and industry. Vaughn is being recognized for his work uncovering a complex, multi-state scheme involving fraudulent debit card purchases worth more than $500,000. Several local, state and federal law enforcement officers from multiple agencies also played a role in the case. As a result, the individual convicted was sentenced to three years in prison.
Ring of Excellence Award: Dan Doyle, senior VP and chief human resources officer, Beall’s Department Stores. This award recognizes pioneers in the retail LP community whose honor, integrity and character serve as an example.
Doyle, an LP veteran and industry leader, is being honored for his contributions, achievements and outstanding leadership throughout a 40-year career. In 2008, Doyle was awarded NRF’s Silver Plaque, which is given each year at NRF’s annual convention in recognition of an outstanding retailer’s contribution to the industry.
