Kroger’s Food 4 Less Workers Ratify New Contract
Cincinnati, Employees of Kroger Co.’s Food 4 Less division in Southern California have ratified a new four-year contract, according to the Business Courier.
The pact covers more than 5,700 workers who are members of several UFCW locals. Terms of the contract weren’t disclosed, but Kroger said the agreement included wage increases and “affordable, quality health-care benefits” for the employees and their families. It also said the deal “will help the division be more competitive in the marketplace.”
Kroger employees in the Cincinnati area this week authorized a strike and rejected a contract proposal covering 77 area Kroger stores and 11,000 workers.
