Kohl's adds more same-day markets

10/12/2015

Kohl’s is speeding up its digital overhaul and expanding a new service that aims to attract shoppers who want their purchases to arrive as quickly as possible.

The company announced it will expand its partnership with Deliv to offer shoppers same-day delivery service. Deliv currently powers Kohl's same-day service in San Francisco, the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago. The service will now expand to Boston, Brooklyn/Queens, Los Angeles, Miami, Northern New Jersey, and Philadelphia in the coming weeks.

"Fulfilling shipments from local stores is core to omnichannel and the future of retail. We're excited to partner with Kohl's as a part of their broader omnichannel strategy," said Daphne Carmeli, founder and CEO of Deliv.

Customers in participating markets can place orders on Kohls.com using their laptops, smartphones or tablets. Customers select the same-day delivery option at checkout and items will be delivered later that day.

In addition to expanding same-day delivery, Kohl’s has updated its app in an attempt to streamline the mobile shopping experience by adding personalization functions and easier navigation of promotions, “Kohl’s Cash” and coupons available at the retailer. Kohl’s also plans to add Apple Pay for mobile customers and Visa Checkout for online and mobile purchases.

Deliv has partnered with over 1,000 national, regional, and local e-tailers and retailers, including Williams-Sonoma, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Kohl's, as well as the nation's six largest mall operators. The company currently operates in 17 markets.
