J.C. Penney promotes exec to lead home business
Plano, Texas J.C. Penney has promoted John J. Tighe to serve as senior VP and general merchandise manager of J.C. Penney’s Home business. He also is expected to join the company’s executive board.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Sweney, executive VP and senior general merchandise manager, will add fine jewelry to her merchandising duties over the women’s apparel, women’s accessories and shoes divisions.
Jeffrey J. Allison, who was recently named the leader of the home and fine jewelry business, has left J.C. Penney Co. for personal reasons.
With Sweney now over all of the company’s women’s divisions, CEO Myron E. Ullman III said the company will better deliver consistent fashion looks to customers.
