The specialty health and wellness retailer is optimizing replenishment and allocation with improved inventory visibility.
Vitamin Shoppe is deploying technology from Relex Solutions to integrate supply chain operations for its e-commerce site, more than 750 brick-and-mortar store locations, and two distribution centers. With more than 13,000 products provided by over 700 suppliers, Vitamin Shoppe has complex inventory requirements.
In order to make it easier for customers to find desired products within this wide omnichannel assortment, Vitamin Shoppe will first focus on improving the accuracy of demand forecasts, then use those forecasts to optimize store and distribution center replenishment and allocations. The retailer also hopes that its Relex implementation will enable promotion optimization to keep availability high while reducing the burden of excess stock.
“Improving visibility of our inventory throughout the supply chain is a key element to enhancing our omnichannel fulfillment,” said Camille Fratanduono, VP/GM merchandising operations at The Vitamin Shoppe. “In today’s retail landscape, being laser-focused on servicing our customers’ health and wellness needs is priority number one. Relex’s customer-centric demand forecasting solution puts us in a position to support our customers’ Omni-Channel purchasing decisions by delivering the products they want, where and when they want them.”
Vitamin Shoppe is working to increase the transparency of its supply chain as it is also expanding customer data transparency. The retailer
recently rolled out POS and CRM solutions from customer engagement technology provider Aptos to create a 360-degree omnichannel view of each customer, enhancing in-store customer service experiences, including checkouts.
