The Home Depot Names Head of U.S. Stores

8/25/2008

Atlanta Marvin Ellison has been promoted to the position of executive VP, U.S. Stores, at The Home Depot. Since joining the home-improvement retailer in 2002 as VP, loss prevention, Ellison has assumed various responsibilities including senior VP, logistics and, most recently, president of the company’s northern division.

In his new role, Ellison will be responsible for the operations of the more than 2,000 stores Home Depot operates in the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Ellison replaces Paul Raines, who recently resigned to pursue an undisclosed opportunity with another company. Raines served as executive VP, U.S. Stores since April 2007.

Prior to joining The Home Depot, Ellison spent 15 years at Target Corp., holding various executive-level positions.
