Grocery group names new board members

Executives from Sprouts and Albertson’s/Safeway are among the newly appointed board members at the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC).

The Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC) elected four new board members during its annual January meeting in LaQuinta, Calif. The newly elected directors are:

• 
  Gary Bickmore, senior VP General Manager West Coast Sales, C&S Wholesale W. Sacramento, California.


• 
  Nancy Lebold, senior VP Operations, South WinCo Foods, Boise, Idaho.


• 
  Dan Sanders, executive VP Operations, Sprouts Markets, Phoenix.


• 
  Adam Wampler, senior VP Retail Operations, Seattle Albertsons/Safeway, Seattle.

“We welcome Gary, Nancy, Dan and Adam to the WAFC Board of Directors and look forward to their participation in our mission of “Advancing the Food Industry Through Education and Leadership,” said Bryan Kaltenbach, WAFC president & chairman and president of Food4Less/Foods Co.

Due to the recent retirement of WAFC VP, Rick Rayford, from Brookshire Grocery Company, the WAFC officer line-up has changed as follows:

  Secretary Mike Stigers, executive VP Independent Business & Supply Chain Services, Supervalu Inc. Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
