Gordmans Stores is taking a POS-centric approach to improving the store experience.
Nebraska-based Gordmans, a discount department store chain with 101 locations, has engaged with retail solutions provider OLR to implement Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Sale (POS) and Oracle Retail Customer Engagement.
Oracle's Xstore POS will help Gordmans to speed up the checkout process through a reduction in manual entry for coupons, discounts, promotions and vouchers. Other benefits will include access to real-time inventory levels across both stores and distribution centers.
In addition, native integration with Oracle Retail Customer Engagement will simplify the tracking and offer redemption associated with Gordmans’ popular gRewards loyalty program.
"Gordmans is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year,” said Richard Heyman, Gordmans’ senior VP & CIO. “We are extremely proud of our heritage in delighting guests with excellent customer service. The Oracle Retail Xstore POS and Customer Engagement solutions will help us to meet the needs of our guests more quickly and accurately, ensuring that their experience at Gordmans is outstanding.”
The replacement of Gordmans’ current POS system is part of a set of strategic initiatives to deliver a platform to support omnichannel retail. In August, Gordmans launched its e-commerce platform, expanding its presence from 22 states to a national footprint via online shopping. The department store chain also is focusing on supply chain efficiency, a next-generation POS system, improvements to its loyalty program, and enhanced brand strategy and positioning.
