Golfsmith Appoints CEO

Austin, Texas Golfsmith International Holdings Tuesday announced the appointment of Martin Hanaka as CEO. Hanaka had been serving as interim chief executive since Jan. 9, 2008, and has been chairman of the board since April 2007.

Hanaka became the chairman of Golfsmith in April 2007. He was the chairman of the board of The Sports Authority, Inc. from November 1999 until June 2004, and was its CEO from September 1998 until August 2003.
