Gap Names President of Old Navy

8/21/2008

New York City Gap Inc. has named Tom Wyatt as president of its Old Navy chain.

Wyatt had served as acting president of Old Navy since February, when Dawn Robertson stepped down after struggling for 16 months to turn the division around. A 30-year retail veteran, Wyatt joined Gap in early 2006 and had previously been president of the company's Outlet division. From 1998 to 2000, he served as CEO of Parisian, which was followed by a stint in long-range planning for Saks Inc.

The company also said that Art Peck will succeed Wyatt as president of the division that operates Gap Outlet and Banana Republic Factory stores. He had been interim president of the outlet division since February.

Before joining Gap, Wyatt served in such roles as president and CEO of a mid-size athletic apparel company and as president of Warnaco Intimate Apparel.
