Fred’s streamlines labor management

Discount value retailer Fred’s Inc. is supporting growth by getting a better view of when and where store associates are needed.

Fred’s has selected the Reflexis One real-time work platform to improve line of sight into store operations and maximize efficiency of scheduling store associates. The retailer, which operates approximately 600 general merchandise and pharmacy stores, will leverage Reflexis One to obtain a better understanding of what tasks need to be accomplished in stores and how associates and field managers should be deployed to boost productivity.

As a result, Fred’s expects to control labor costs while also reducing the cost of store operations and providing store-level employees more time to directly engage with shoppers, elevating customer experience and satisfaction. This, in turn, will support Fred’s expansion plans.

“We chose Reflexis One because of their track record in helping retailers grow and excel in today’s complex retail environment,” said Michael Fabrico, interim CIO at Fred’s Inc. “Reflexis solutions will enable our management team and store associates to focus more time where it is most important, serving our customers.”

Discount retailer Big Lots also recently deployed workforce management technology from Reflexis to increase visibility into store-level execution, reduce labor complexities, and automate time-consuming manual tasks. Along with increasing productivity and customer service in stores, Big Lots is seeking to reduce associate turnover with improved scheduling.
