Former Home Depot chief named non-exec chairman at NewPage

Miamisburg, Ohio Coated paper manufacturer NewPage Corp. said Tuesday it has named former head of Chrysler and Home Depot Robert Nardelli as non-executive chairman after the company's chief executive and also its board chairman resigned.

NewPage did not provide a reason for the departures of CEO E. Thomas Curley and chairman Mark Suwyn. The VP of human resources Michael Edicola also resigned.  

Nardelli is the current chief executive of Cerberus Operating and Advisory Co., which is an affiliate of NewPage's controlling stockholder.  

Nardelli said in a statement that he will be involved in an ongoing basis as NewPage searches for a new CEO.
