Former Duane Reade chief to lead national food distributor
Rosemont, Ill. U.S. Foodservice said Friday that Duane Reade chairman and CEO John A. Lederer will assume the helm as president and CEO of the national food distributor effective Sept. 8.
Lederer, who joined New York City-based Duane Reade in 2008, will also hold a seat on U.S. Foodservice’s board of directors.
Walgreen Co. bought Duane Reade in April.
U.S. Foodservice provides food to restaurants, hospitals, universities, hotels and other customers and is jointly owned by funds managed by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice LLC and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.
