Dollar Tree names exec

Chesapeake, Va. Dollar Tree announced Tuesday that it has appointed Shawnta Totten to the newly created position of VP, governance and corporate counsel.

In the new position, Totten will focus on the company's efforts on best practices in corporate governance and will serve as the liaison with shareholders on governance matters.

Totten has served as corporate counsel and assistant secretary of Dollar Tree since joining the retailer in 2007.
