CVS, Walgreens recognized for healthy work environment
Washington, D.C. - CVS Caremark and Walgreens have both been honored by the National Business Group on Health, a non-profit association of large U.S. employers, for promoting a healthy work environment and encouraging employees and their families to maintain healthy lifestyles. CVS Caremark received a Gold Award for its WellRewards employee wellness program, while Walgreens received a gold award for its “You and Walgreens” company wellness program.
This marks the sixth year CVS Caremark has received an award for its employee health-and-wellness initiatives and second year for Walgreens. CVS Caremark's WellRewards program offers services such as preventive screenings, flu shots, smoking cessation, weight management, health coaching, health management for chronic and rare conditions, EAP life services, and maternity management. “You and Walgreens” provides access to a variety of health-and-wellness resources, including free health testing, wellness programs, personal health coaches, tobacco-free program, fitness center, weight-management programs, and on-site Healthy Living Centers.
