COO at Cabela's is stepping down

One of the senior executives at Cabela’s is transitioning to an advisory role within the company.



The sporting goods retailer announced that Michael Copeland, executive VP/COO, has decided to transition from his current position to a strategic advisory role. The transition will take place over the next month.



Copeland joined Cabela’s in November 2007 as VP of retail operations. Since January 2010 he has served as Cabela’s COO.



“Cabela’s has been fortunate to benefit from Michael’s leadership and extensive retail experience, and we are pleased that he will continue to be part of the organization as a strategic advisor,” said Tommy Millner, Cabela’s CEO. “I want to thank Michael for his dedication, valuable insights and the many contributions he made to Cabela’s over the past eight years in building the strong teams that will continue the legacy of customer service along with fostering the culture of our company across North America.”
