Children's Place appoints new board member

Secaucus, N.J. The Children's Place Retail Stores has appointed Norman Matthews to serve on the company’s board of directors. Matthews will serve as a Class III director, and will stand for election at the 2009 annual meeting of stockholders.

Matthews served as president of Federated Department Stores until his retirement in 1988.
