Charming Shoppes Names Outlet President

Bensalem, Pa. Charming Shoppes said Tuesday that MaryEllen MacDowell has been named president of Charming Outlets, effective immediately. She replaces Jeffrey A. Elliott, who left the company to pursue another opportunity.

MacDowell will be responsible for the company’s Lane Bryant Outlet and Petite Sophisticate Outlet chains. She will report to Joseph Baron, the company’s executive VP and COO. MacDowell, who joined the company in 2002, was previously senior VP and GMM of apparel and accessories at the company’s Lane Bryant brand.
