Bon-Ton closes Northwood, Ohio store

6/30/2009

York, Pa. The Bon-Ton Stores announced Tuesday that it will close its 167,900-sq.-ft. Elder-Beerman Woodville Mall store in Northwood, Ohio.

The leasehold interest in the Northwood location was acquired by Bon-Ton in 2003 as part of the Elder-Beerman acquisition.

Bud Bergren, president and CEO, said, “The company continually reviews the performance of its assets, and following a review of the Northwood location, we made the decision to close the store.”

The closing, slated for September, will impact approximately 60 associates, who are being encouraged to consider opportunities at the Westgate Village store or to receive career-transition benefits including severance and unemployment.
