BJ’s Names CEO

Natick, Mass. BJ's Wholesale Club announced Thursday that the company’s board of directors elected Laura Sen CEO, effective Feb. 1. Sen has served as BJ’s president and COO, as well as member of the board of directors, since Jan. 2008. She will retain the title of president and continue to serve on the board of directors.

BJ’s also announced that Herb Zarkin, who preceded Sen as CEO, will continue as chairman of the board of directors and will stand for reelection to the board when his term expires in May 2010. Previously, Zarkin had planned to retire from the board in May 2010. The management changes were part of a planned succession.
