Bernardo Hees named Burger King CEO
New York City 3G Capital said Thursday Bernardo Hees will lead Burger King Holdings as CEO upon completion of the firm’s pending acquisition of Burger King.
Hees was most recently CEO of America Latina Logistica, Latin America's largest railroad and logistics company.
Burger King's current chairman and CEO John Chidsey will remain in his current capacity until the close of the transaction, at which time he will assume a newly created position of co-chairman of the board.
Alex Behring, managing partner of 3G Capital, will be appointed co-chairman of the board, alongside Chidsey.
The transaction is expected to close in fourth quarter 2010.
On Sept. 2, 3G Capital and Burger King announced a definitive merger agreement under which affiliates of 3G Capital would acquire all of the stock of Burger King for $4 billion.
