Belk names CIO

Charlotte, N.C. Belk has named Michael Laurenti its executive VP and CIO. He succeeds Robert Kerr Jr., who has retired after 38 years with the company.

Belk has hired Laurenti from Family Dollar, where he was VP information technology.

Belk is the nation’s largest privately owned department store company. The company, founded in 1888, operates 306 stores in 16 southern states.
