Wet Seal Inc. said Tuesday its COO has resigned to become chief executive of a subsidiary of European retailer PPR SA.

Gary White will leave the company at the end of March to become CEO of United Retail Group Inc. White joined Wet Seal in 2004 as senior VP of sales and operations.

Wet Seal CEO Ed Thomas and other managers will distribute White's duties among themselves.
