A.C. Moore names CEO

Philadelphia A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts announced that its interim CEO has been hired permanently.

Joseph A. Jeffries, who had been acting CEO since March 31, took over the top spot on Thursday.

Jeffries has been with the retailer since late 2007, serving most recently as executive VP and COO. Before joining A.C. Moore, he’d been a senior executive at Office Depot, serving as VP store operations, store planning and visual merchandising.

Jeffries’ predecessor, Rick A. Lepley, who served from 2006 to early this year, had also been an Office Depot executive. Lepley retired in March.
