Zumiez Profit Jumps in 3Q

Everett, Wash., Zumiez Inc. posted a net income for the third quarter ended Nov. 3 of $8.1 million, vs. $6.8 million in the same quarter the year before. Same-store sales increased 13.2% for the quarter, compared to a 10.7% increase in 2006.

Total net sales for the quarter increased by 26.5% to $104 million from $82.3 million last year.

Zumiez opened 17 new stores in the third quarter and 48 stores year-to-date.
