Zappos ups the ante on holiday shopping with price matching
Eager to keep early omnichannel holiday shoppers from “shopping around, Zappos.com unveiled introduced its “price promise” program.
The program, which launched on Oct. 31 and runs through Nov. 20, uses software to automatically price match the site’s most popular products with those found on qualifying online competitors’ sites.
A qualifying online competitor must be offering an identical product at a lower price than on the Zappos site. Also, valid merchandise must be in-stock and identical in brand, style, color and size during the holiday promotion, according to the retailer’s website.
If a shopper finds a better price their own, they can call Zappos' customer loyalty team or use live chat to confirm eligibility and get a price adjustment. Shoppers that purchased a product during the promotion, and then find a better price on an identical product within 14 days are also eligible for an adjustment, the site said.
Adjustments will be issued as a coupon code for the price difference. These coupon codes are valid for 90 days, and only redeemable for future purchases of merchandise at Zappos.
