Wisconsin group asks USDA to investigate Target

Cornucopia, Wis. A farm policy group in Wisconsin asked the U.S. Agriculture Department on Tuesday to investigate whether Target Corp. misled consumers by claiming some soy milk it sells is organic.

The Cornucopia Institute's complaint says Target advertised Silk soy milk in newspapers with the term "organic" pictured on the carton's label when in fact the manufacturer, Dean Foods, has shifted products away from organics.

Jana O'Leary, a spokeswoman for Target, said the company is researching the complaint.
