Winn-Dixie Sends Portable Pharmacies to Louisiana

Jacksonville, Fla., According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, Winn-Dixie has transformed two mobile homes into portable pharmacies that are now headed to damaged store locations in New Orleans and Slidell, La.

Equipped with computers that can access insurance records, the makeshift stores include many of the same services as a normal Winn-Dixie pharmacy, allowing the company to simultaneously serve the devastated population while gaining a market share.

Once the stores are rebuilt, the portable pharmacies will be used for other hurricane-damaged locations.
