Whole Foods Market teams up with two eateries for its second 365 store

4/28/2016

Whole Foods Market will open its second 365 by Whole Foods Market store on July 14, in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The new format will make its debut in on May 25, in Los Angeles.

In addition to being value driven, the 365 format will feature tie-ins with local and like-minded retailers as part of the chain’s “Friends of 365” program. The Lake Oswego location will showcase two Portland, Oregon companies: Next Level Burger, a plant-based take on the classic American burger joint, and Canteen, a café and juice bar that specializes in fresh and healthy eating. Both will have dedicated shops within the store with curated menus designed to enhance the store experience.

“Oregon is known throughout the country for an extremely creative and diverse food scene, and we wanted to find partners that would be reflective of those qualities. We’ve made it a point to keep an open mind during the selection process, considering anything and everything. This time it was the team in the Pacific Northwest that helped us discover friends for this new store,” said Jeff Turnas, president of 365 by Whole Foods Market.

The third 365 store will open in late fall, in Bellevue, Washington. Ten additional locations are expected to open in 2017.

All 365 stores will incorporate the retailer’s “Friends of 365” program, which gives local businesses and entrepreneurs that align with the mission and quality standards of Whole Foods to expand their reach by establishing independent retail spaces inside the 365 stores.
