Whole Foods to Launch New Legal Challenge in Merger
New York City Whole Foods Market Monday said it is initiating a new legal challenge to what is described as "due process violations" by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in its actioni against the chain’s merger with rival Wild Oats.
Whole Foods CEO John Mackey, with additional leadership and team members from across the country, will go to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday to talk to members of Congress and ask for "fair play" for Whole Foods Market by the FTC. Mackey will hold a press conference on Tuesday to outline the chain’s challenge.
