Whole Foods installs first plug-in vehicle charging station
CAMPBELL, Calif. Whole Foods has installed its first electric vehicle charging station, according to Coulomb Technologies, maker of the ChargePoint networked charging station.
The charging station is located at Whole Foods Market flagship store: 525 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78703.
“Whole Foods Market is committed to supporting wise environmental practices, which means making decisions that positively affect the health of our planet, its people, and its resources,” said Mark Dixon from Whole Foods Market. “It is our hope that by offering electric vehicle charging we can support alternative transportation and help Austin residents decrease their environmental impact.”
The station at Whole Foods is part of a network of electric vehicle charging stations that is accessible to all plug-in drivers who are members of the ChargePoint Network, according to the company. Being a member of the network allows drivers to check their charging status through e-mail or text notification and locate unoccupied charging stations via smartphones, among other features.
