Whole Foods CEO: The corporate world has a ‘bad brand’

New Orleans Whole Foods chairman and CEO John Mackey, who addressed the Tulane Business Forum in New Orleans on Friday, said large corporations have done a poor job of communicating the benefits of capitalism and as a result have been unjustly vilified by some consumers.

According to an article in the New Orleans Times Picayune, Mackey said, "Capitalism and corporations are not well-loved around the world. The free market is blamed for the problems we're in. I don’t believe that capitalism is at fault for the struggles we have today.

Instead, Mackey said, the problem is that the corporate world has a "bad brand."
