Whitehall Jewellers Loses Chief Executive
Chicago, Troubles continue for Whitehall Jewellers, as president and COO Lucinda Baier resigned from the company for undisclosed reasons. Baier had also been serving as Whitehall’s CEO.
Without a permanent CEO since the death of chairman and CEO Hugh Patinkin in March, the retailer put former J.C. Penney executive Beryl Raff in the position last August, but Raff resigned in September before she even started the job.
Whitehall has now named Daniel Levy, a long-time board member, to serve as the interim chief executive while the company searches for a permanent successor.
Rumors surfaced last month that the company may be acquired, but Whitehall has so far declined comment.
