Wells Fargo connection continues

3/15/2010

The newest member of Target’s board of directors is Wells Fargo chairman, president and CEO John Stumpf. The 28-year Wells Fargo veteran and University of Minnesota alum fills the board seat vacated by George Tamke, who retired last week after serving on the board since 1999. Tamke is a partner at the private investment firm of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and serves on the boards of Culligan Ltd., Hertz Global Holdings Inc. and Service Master Global Holdings Inc.

The appointment of Stumpf will help fill the void created by the resignation of Tamke as well as the resignation of current board member and former Wells Fargo chairman and CEO, Richard Kovacevich, who plans to step down later this year after serving on the board since 1996.
