Weis Markets profit rises 4.9% in Q3

Sunbury, Pa. Weis Markets reported Thursday that third quarter net income increased 4.9% to $16.3 million.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 25 increased 2.7% to $640 million. Same-store sales edged up 0.1%.

Weis Markets operates 164 stores in its home state of Pennsylvania as well as Maryland; New York; New Jersey; and West Virginia.
