All retailers want to be recognized for the charitable efforts and community involvement, but when was the last time you saw one devote the incredibly valuable real estate of its weekly circular to anything other than the promotion of key items. The ad is definitely impactful, and while it might seem like a non-sales generating activity, reminding folks of Target’s commitment to devote 5% of its income to local communities and kids probably factors into some shoppers decision about where to spend their money.
