Washington-area union, grocers reach deal

WASHINGTON Grocery workers in the Baltimore-Washington area represented by the United Food and Commercial Workers Union have reached a tentative agreement with Ahold operated Giant Foods and Safeway.

Information on the contract will be available April 2.

According to UFCW, the coordinated effort in Baltimore-Washington is part of a UFCW nationwide unity bargaining program.
