Warehouse food fomat opens 100th location

WinCo Foods LLC is marking its 100th store opening with a huge celebration in Texas on May 7.

The newest WinCo Foods store is located at 1288 W. Main St. in Lewisville and is the fifth WinCo Foods store to open in Texas. Occupying approximately 83,000 square feet the store will initially employ approximately 150 individuals, about 140 of whom have been hired locally.

Founded as a single warehouse format store in 1967, in Boise, Idaho, the chain grew steadily and in recent years more dramatically toward this 100 store milestone. We invite the community to help us celebrate our success as we continue to grow in the greater DFW market and across the West. he store features WinCo's "Wall of Values" at the entry, which displays a wide variety of high volume products with exceptionally good pricing. The store features large fresh produce, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery departments. The unique bulk foods department allows customers to buy only the amounts they want and displays nearly 700 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more.
