8/26/2008

BENTONVILLE, Ark. Walmart announced that in time with back-to-school season, it is offering special savings at its Vision Centers across the country.

Savings at the Vision Center include select youth frames and lenses for $40, Avaira contact lenses for $27. 49 and lined bifocal complete eyeglasses starting at $73.

"Considering that more than 40 states require vision screenings before children return to school, and a recent survey found that 87% of respondents were unaware that one in four children have vision problems, it's very important that we provide a low-cost solution for parents this back-to-school season and beyond," said Jeff McAllister, Walmart's senior vp for the optical division. "Through our Vision Center products and services, parents can ensure that their children receive the proper screenings necessary to head back-to-school without breaking the bank."
