Walmart does things differently, see how
It was a busy few days in Bentonville earlier this week when Walmart held its “Made In USA” Open Call event combined with a U.S. Manufacturing Summit.
During the Open Call event, current and prospective suppliers met with Walmart senior leaders and buyers to pitch products for the chance to sell at Walmart, Walmart.com and Sam’s Club. The company hosted more than 550 meetings between buyers and suppliers during Open Call and facilitated nearly 400 more meetings between suppliers and representatives from 30 states.
Suppliers and competitors to Walmart owe it to themselves to see what the company is up to when it comes to delivering on a $250 billion domestic sourcing agenda. So grab the tablet and some popcorn and check out the general session from the retailer’s Summit. (Viewing tip, the video begins at 8:51) Clickhere.
