Walgreens CEO among keynote speakers at Shop.org’s annual summit
WASHINGTON — Walgreens president and CEO Gregory Wasson will be the keynote speaker on the second day of Shop.org’s annual summit, as will the company’s president of e-commerce, Sona Chawla.
Shop.org, the digital arm of the National Retail Federation, will host more than 4,000 retail, e-commerce and multichannel executives at the Lakeside Center at McCormick Place in Chicago. The summit, which will run from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, offers industry experts, retailers and their business partners an opportunity to network with one another and discuss and learn about top trends in digital retailing.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome so many digital retail visionaries to the Shop.org summit stage,” said Shop.org executive director Vicki Cantrell. “These experienced keynote speakers will give our summit audience invaluable knowledge through insight on the ever-changing world of e-commerce and multichannel retail.”
Wasson is scheduled to take the stage Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 8:30 a.m. for the “Walgreens: Developing Digital DNA” keynote session. Chawla will join Wasson to discuss the retailer’s journey in becoming a mobile leader in the industry and the importance of omnichannel integration when evolving a major brand.
Tory Burch chief marketing officer Miki Berardelli and SVP Matt Marcotte will take the stage on the first full day.
