Walgreens announces executive promotions

DEERFIELD, Ill. Walgreens announced today that Stanley Blaylock and Mia Scholz have been promoted from divisional to corporate vps.

Blaylock also will retain his title of vp of specialty pharmacy for Walgreens Health Services, the managed care division of Walgreens. Blaylock joined Walgreens in 2006 with the company's acquisition of Pittsburgh-based Medmark Specialty Pharmacy Solutions, where Blaylock was president and ceo. He leads Walgreens specialty pharmacy business today, which now includes Option Care, a specialty pharmacy and home infusion services provider acquired by Walgreens in August.

Scholz was promoted to corporate vp of accounting and controller. She joined Walgreens in 1999 as director of internal audit and was named divisional vp of accounting and controller in 2003. Before joining Walgreens, she was a senior manager for Arthur Anderson LLP in Chicago.
