Walgreen spent $350,000 in Q1 lobbying
Deerfield, Ill. Walgreen Co. spent $350,000 in the first quarter as it lobbied Congress on topics including healthcare reform and labor issues.
Walgreen also lobbied the White House and the Department of Justice, discussing the healthcare overhaul's effects on drug prices and reimbursement rates for drug stores, along with antidiscrimination and labor laws.
The company spent $480,000 on lobbying efforts in the year-ago period and $430,000 in fourth quarter 2009. Its activities were disclosed April 20 in a form filed with the House clerk's office.
