Wal-Mart’s McMillon and others join board

Doug McMillion, the new president and CEO of Wal-Mart’s international division, was named to the board of directors of Wal-Mart de Mexico at the retailer’s annual meeting on March 12. McMillion is the former president and CEO of Sam’s Club and assumed new responsibilities for Wal-Mart’s international division on Feb. 1.

Joining McMillon on the board are David Cheesewright, president and CEO of Wal-Mart Canada, Wan Ling Martello, SVP and CFO of Wal-Mart International and Ann Bordelon, chief audit executive with Wal-Mart. Other Wal-Mart executives already serving on the board of the publicly held Mexican retailer in which Wal-Mart owns a majority of the shares include, Craig Herkert, president and CEO of Wal-Mart Americas and Susan Chambers, EVP people division. Wal-Mart de Mexico president and CEO Eduardo Solorzano and CFO Rafael Matute also serve on the 11-member board, which includes three independent directors.

Wal-Mart de Mexico operates 1,212 retails stores across a variety of formats.
