Wal-Mart targets Hispanics
New York City Wal-Mart Stores has opened its first Mas Club, a Hispanic-oriented club store that is described as a cross between Sam's Club and a warehouse-style bodega, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. The new format debuted in Houston.
The store includes a tortilleria, a selection of Mexican-style pastries, and other ethnic offerings. The signage is in Spanish, with English translations, the report said.
