Wal-Mart signs agreement to roll out planning system

Chicago Merchandising solution-provider Galleria Retail Technology Solutions announced Tuesday that Wal-Mart Stores has completed its testing of Galleria’s configured store and merchandise planning software system and has signed a global license agreement to roll out the system in the United Kingdom.

The Galleria solution connects the assortment and space-planning business processes while providing scalability and automation. Galleria analyzes performance data in conjunction with forecast data, which results in stock that reflects future demands on a store-by-store basis, instead of a purely historic view.
