Wal-Mart Settles With Connecticut EPA for $600K

Bentonville, Ark., Wal-Mart announced today that it has settled with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection concerning storm water issues. Under the agreement, which Wal-Mart signed today, the retailer will pay $600,000 in civil penalties for violations that were alleged to have occurred between 1996 and 2003 at 20 Wal-Mart stores and two Sam’s Club stores in Connecticut.

Wal-Mart will also contribute another $550,000 to environmental projects surrounding Connecticut storm water issues.
