Wal-Mart Sees High July Sales

New York City, Wal-Mart estimates that its same-store sales for July have risen 4.4% from last year. The company previously estimated a range of 3% to 5%. Wal-Mart’s June same-store sales increased 4.5% from the previous year. Wal-Mart said the increase could be attributed to the larger size of the average purchase. It also said that the West was its strongest region.
